Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia

Founded in 1935, the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia is part of the contemporary scientific and cultural background and an essential reference point for the Italian and worldwide cinema.

 

Established in 1935, the Fondazione Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, chaired by Marta Donzelli, is an indispensable reference for Italian cinema. It includes the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema (National Film School), an historical place of excellence for film professions, and the Cineteca Nazionale (National Film Archive), one of the oldest and most important film archives in the world.

 

The Scuola Nazionale di Cinema, headed by Adriano De Santis, is structured into 15 educational areas, all run by active professionals: Chiara Magri (Animation), Paolo Tosini (Conservation and management of the audio-visual heritage), Maurizio Millenotti (Costume Design), Costanza Quatriglio (Documentary), Giuseppe Lanci (Cinematography), Francesca Calvelli (Film Editing), Gianluca Arcopinto and Viola Prestieri (Film Production), Maurizio Nichetti (Advertising and Industrial Cinema), Alba Rohrwacher (Acting), Daniele Luchetti (Directing), Francesca Mannocchi (Audiovisual Reportage), Franco Bernini (Screenwriting), Francesco Frigeri (Set Design), Daniela Bassani and Adriano Di Lorenzo (Sound), Renato Pezzella and Daniele Tomassetti (Visual effects supervisor & producer).

 

The Animation department is based in Turin, the Documentary department in Palermo, the Advertising and Industrial Cinema department in Milan, and the Audiovisual Reportage department in L’Aquila, but the core of the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema is the Rome venue, that hosts all the other departments, that constantly work together to implement cooperative training between professionals, aiming to constant creation of new audiovisual projects.
