Peter C. Slansky
Peter C. Slansky was born 1961 in Krefeld, Germany. He studied media engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Cologne and film/television at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. From 1988 to 1999, he realized 60 industrial and commercial films as director, cinematographer and/or producer. 1992 he served as a volunteer set photographer for Lars von Trier. Since 1992 he worked as a freelance lecturer in Germany and Switzerland, including teaching assignments at the State University of Design Karlsruhe and the University of Applied Sciences Cologne.
In 1999 he became professor for film and television production technology at the HFF Munich. All students go through his courses. He was – respectively is – member of the Senate and the University Council, and was Dean of Studies for three terms. A special challenge he had to meet as HFF’s commissioner was the task of overseeing the finalizing of the new building in Munich’s Arts Quarter. In 2013, he received a PhD in architecture from the Bauhaus University Weimar. In 2015 he was Co-host of the CILECT conference. Moreover, he is active as author on a number of topics and as consultant for film technology as well as for film school buildings – and as an amateur astronomer.
