Nicola Piovaniz
Nicola Piovani is a composer and conductor, especially known for his compositions for cinema and theatre. He has worked with some of the most important directors of Italian cinema, such as Federico Fellini, Mario Monicelli, Paolo e Vittorio Taviani, Marco Bellocchio, Giuseppe Tornatore. Academy Award winner in 1999 for Roberto Benigini’s “La vita è bella”, he has also worked with several international directors such as Pál Gábor, Dusan Makavejev, Bigas Luna, Jos Sterling, John Irvin, Sergej Bodrov, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Philippe Lioret, Danièle Thompson.
In a world filled with audiovisual information, it seems to be increasingly difficult to assure a non-superficial education in the use of this medium. Over the years, the formal level of audiovisual works has grown due to technical evolution, and productive competition, but the same cannot always be said of audiovisual storytelling. Yet, the new generations seem to be ready to receive new stimuli, appropriately conveyed, to acquire greater awareness and broaden the horizon of their interests. How to conjugate this potential with an established didactic?
